Beautiful Brazil

Well, the Brazil has just gotten back safely from the mission trip … Praise God! It was an amazing time in Brazil and we look forward to sharing the stories of the relationships that we built there. But in the meantime, I wanted to share with you what I wrote in their church bulletin to thank them and encourage them.

Beautiful. That’s the one word that keeps coming up in conversations with those who came from America. We see

Checking In by Checking Up

We wanted to share a letter we received this past week from our Singles retreat speaker, Pastor Sam Park.

Greetings Binnerri EM from Los Angeles!

It’s been almost two months since my visit to your wonderful community, and yet, so many aspects of that weekend are still vivid in my mind.  Thanks to you, I have been watching more “Minute to Win It” clips on Hulu!  I can’t stop thinking about the BBQ restaurants

Feast Your Eyes on This

This past Sunday I gave a message entitled “Saturate,” at our college gathering on Matthew 6:22-23. Here’s what Jesus says in these verses: “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” (NIV) Essentially, what these verses…

2010 Pathway Singles Retreat

Praise God for a great retreat!

We want to especially thank Pastor Sam Park as well as the retreat team for making this a memorable retreat. May God continue to refuel us for His sake!

Come Awake

We had a lot of special elements for our Easter Sunday service today and one of them was a video that we showed right before the message. This is a video that was made by IgniterMedia, a Dallas based media group that produced videos for churches. They called us and asked if they could come last Sunday and shoot some video of our church members. My children had already been in one of their videos before, so I thought it would be great. Well, the video is called “Come Awake” and I love it! Not just because our church members are in it, but ever since I first saw this video, I have been singing this song nonstop. The chorus is so catchy and whenever I find myself singing it during the day, I am reminded that we are called to come awake because of what Christ has done for us. I guarantee this song will be in your head after you view it again … but that’s a good thing, Church!

Upside Down Truth

We showed a short video at the end of the message this past Sunday to illustrate this incredible idea the upside down economy of God; and how He tends to flip things upside down in a way that’s completely contrary to the way we would normally do things. And afterwards, everyone seemed to enjoy and appreciate the video, and primarily they liked it for its “cool” factor. If you missed it here it is:

I admit, when I watched this…

Surprised and Blessed

Today was my birthday (one shy of the big 4-0) and it was a pretty amazing day. It was a day full of surprises and blessings:

1. I woke up in the morning to about 5-6 inches of snow (in Dallas, in March, on the first day of spring!). We had a white Christmas this year and now a white birthday! Hoping that I don’t get any white hairs though.

2. My kids all gave me cards and each of…

Please Tune In…

By chance, did you miss the message last Sunday? How about 8 weeks ago? Do you remember what the 4C’s from the “Gripped” message are? Do you need a refresher on what the 3 “Vital” relationships (Part 1, 2, or 3) which we believe is the measure of a believer’s spiritual health? Are you in a season of your life where you…

LifeGroups

LifeGroup is our small group environment and the heartbeat of our ministry. Our goal is to “provide a predictable small group environment where participants experience authentic community and spiritual growth and do life together.” We believe that life change happens best in the context of community. We want people to celebrate the joys of life together and navigate through the storms of life together, as well. We desire for LifeGroups to be a means by…
