So, despite the fact that this season’s American Idol was the worst season ever (in my opinion and others), there was a redeeming factor in the season’s finale. It happened to be Simon Cowell’s last night on the show as a judge, and one of the things that they did to thank him for his contribution was for the past season winners (all 9 in order) and other contestants to sing him a song. It was a touching moment because I believe it was a little glimpse of what heaven will be like.
As we are all called to invest in the lives of others and to leave a legacy beyond ourselves, I wonder if when we get to heaven, we will be surrounded by the people that we’ve invested in and they will be singing the same words, “See what we’ve all become … Together we are one.”
